How to determine what is the best calorie goal for you? Want to lose weight? Multiply your current weight in pounds by 10 and you get the calories you need to aim for. For example, if you weigh 180 pounds and want to lose weight, 1800 calories would be the goal to aim for. (To change from kilograms to pounds, multiply by 2.2. To change kilograms to pounds, multiply by 0.453.)




A target of 1400 calories suitable for thin women or wanting to lose weight; a target of 1800 calories, the plus-size women, to men of normal size and those wanting to lose weight heavier; a goal of 2200 calories, with very heavy or very active men.
